I've always loved what koi symbolize, and that's really what inspired this painting.  They remind me that we are all on our own journey, and honestly, it is so easy to compare ourselves to everyone.  One of my favorite things about this piece is that when you first look at it, it feels really abstract.  But the longer you look, the more the koi starts to appear.  I love that because it reminds me that not everything reveals itself right away.  Sometimes the best things just take a little time.  I hope when someone hangs this in their home, it's a little reminder to trust their own path and to keep moving forward even when things feel really heavy.
